DuPage golfers finish 4th at NJCAA DIII Nationals

CHAUTAUQUA, NY - The College of DuPage men's golf team played consistent golf over four days at Chautauqua Golf Club to place fourth overall at the 2017 NJCAA Division III Men's Golf Championship. The Chaparrals posted their best team total on Day 4 to reach a combined 122-over-par, two shots better than Nassau (NY) Community College and 59 shots back of champion Georgia Military College. Freshman Anthony Accettura shot 77-77-77-79 over four days for a total of 310, finishing 14th overall and earning Honorable Mention All-American honors.

DuPage began the tournament with a scores of 319 and 318 to sit in fourth after two days. Despite a 325 total after the third round, the Chaparrals recovered with their tournament low score of 312 to close out competition with a strong grip on fourth place.

Following Accettura's 22-over-par final score, the Chaparrals also counted a score of 313 (+25) from James Roach, who placed 18th overall. Ryan Hay signed off on a four-day total of 326 (+38) to tie for 34th and Kevin Uvodich registered a 329 (+41) to tie for 41st overall. DuPage's fifth score belonged to Sean Burk with a 333 (+45) to sit tied for 51st.
