Waubonsee's Erastus-Obilo takes home NJCAA Player of the Week honor

The National Junior College Athletics Association (NJCAA) has named Waubonsee Community College sophomore Reuel Erastus-Obilo as its men's soccer Division I Player of the Week for September 18-24 (Week 4). The weekly award is the first such honor for Erastus-Obilo and the first of the season for the Chiefs.

Erastus-Obilo, a forward, scored six goals on nine shots on goal in helping Waubonsee post three consecutive wins. After scoring one goal in a 4-2 defeat of Moraine Valley Community College, the Aurora, Illinois, native scored his first hat trick as part of a 5-3 win over Kankakee Community College. Erastus-Obilo ended the week with two more scoring strikes to help the Chiefs top Southwestern Community College, 5-3.

Through 13 matches this season, Erastus-Obilo has 11 goals, finding the back of the net in eight different contests, as Waubonsee has posted a 9-2 record.
