Rock Valley duo lead NJCAA DIII All-American list

Three Region IV student-athletes were selected to the 2017 NJCAA Division III Softball All-American teams, highlighted by the duo of Kelsie Packard and Olivia Fluehr of the national champion Rock Valley College. The two Golden Eagle sophomores were recognized as first team honorees after winning a fourth consecutive championship, while Joliet Junior College's Rachel Andrade earned second team All-American accolades.

Fluehr, a utility player, received first team honors for a second straight year. The Loves Park, Illinois, native led the nation with 91 runs batted in and was fifth with ten home runs, while also hitting .491 and collecting 48 extra base hits. In the pitcher's circle, Fluehr was tops in the country with a 0.96 earned run average. She posted a 21-1 record with one save and tallied 114 strikeouts.

Packard, a pitcher, owned a 23-0 record and boasted a nation-leading 209 strikeouts. The native of Beloit, Wisconsin, finished second in ERA at 1.29.

Andrade, a sophomore infielder, led the Wolves with a .412 batting average and 59 runs scored. The New Lenox, Illinois, native registered nine home runs as part of 38 extra base hits and stole 14 bases.
