    The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) selected its 2017-18 women's basketball All-America teams, and seven players from Region IV were named. Headlining the group was one first team recipient: Rock Valley College's Madi Hecox in Division III
  • Bryant & Stratton earns first national tournament win, Kankakee shut out

    A pair of opening round setbacks sent Region IV representatives Bryant & Stratton College and Kankakee Community College into the seventh-place losers brackets to finish out the 2017-18 season at the NJCAA Division II Women's Basketball Championships in Harrison, Arkansas. The Cougars, playing in their first year of postseason eligibility, were able to earn their first-ever national tournament victory, while the Lady Cavaliers followed up last year's run to the national semifinals with two early losses.
  • Golden Eagles fall short in bid for repeat national title

    Playing on their home floor failed to give Rock Valley College the extra push it needed to get back to the top as the top-seeded Golden Eagles lost 58-52 to #2 Hostos Community College (NY) in the 2018 NJCAA Division III Women's Basketball National Championship Game. Rock Valley, the defending national champs, were looking for their fifth championship in seven years, but settled for a second runner-up finish during that time period.
  • Highland's Townsend tops Region IV Division I list of All-Region players

    Highland Community College's Wynter Townsend was the top vote-getter and headlines the five players chosen for the NJCAA Region IV Division I All-Region Team. The Cougars, who won the Region IV Division I Tournament, placed two players on the all-region team, more than any other school. Townsend, along with Jayshari Chears of Malcolm X College and Kennedy Kuykendall from Sauk Valley Community College, will receive the region's three All-American nominations.
  • Elliott of Kankakee, Donaldson of Bryant & Stratton earn Region IV DII Player of the Year honors

    Kankakee Community College's Jasmine Elliott and Bryant & Stratton College's Kiara Donaldson were each selected as a Region IV Division II Player of the Year in District D and L, respectively. The 20 person list includes three players from Moraine Valley Community College, the most for any one school, while six other schools each finished with two all-region honorees. In District D, Elliot, Angel Kidd of South Suburban College, and Ashley Hunter from Moraine Valley Community College will receive the region's All-American nominations, and in District L, the nominations will go to Donaldson, Julie Pohar of Illinois Valley Community College, and Madison Lowe of Carl Sandburg College.
  • Bryant & Stratton, Kankakee ready for challenges of NJCAA DII National Tournament

    The 2018 NJCAA Division II Women's Basketball National Championship opens this week and will feature a pair of Region IV teams. Bryant & Stratton College, winners of the Region IV District L Tournament, has been awarded the #10 seed in the 16-team field, while District D champion Kankakee Community College begins play as the #11 seed.

    The 2018 NJCAA Division III Women's Basketball Championship seems as tailor-made any tournament could be for Rock Valley College to come out on top. The defending national champion Golden Eagles will not only enter as the tournament's top seed, but they will also literally be the home team for every game as RVC will host the eight-team event inside the RVC Physical Education Center in Rockford, Illinois.
  • Williams, Highland crowned Region IV Division I champions

    FREEPORT, ILL. - For the second time in three years, Highland Community College is the NJCAA Region IV Division I Women's Basketball Tournament Champions, earning the honor with an 85-77 win over second-seeded Sauk Valley Community College. The top-seeded and host Cougars (17-10) advanced to the NJCAA District D Championship against Region XIII winner, North Dakota State College of Science, but fell 71-62 in Wahpeton, North Dakota.
  • Kankakee, Bryant & Stratton claim Region IV Division II titles

    SUGAR GROVE, ILL. - A familiar name and a brand new name found their way to the top of the Region IV Division II Women's Basketball Tournaments as Kankakee Community College rolled to the District D title and Bryant & Stratton College emerged from the District L field.
  • RVC's Hecox takes Region IV Player of the Year award

    First year guard Madi Hecox took home the region's top honor and was one of ten players named to the 2017-18 NJCAA Region IV Division III All-Region Team. Rock Valley College, Madison College, Joliet Junior College, and Milwaukee Area Technical College all tied for the most players named to the team with two. Hecox and sophomore guard/forward Megan Corcoran of Madison College received the region's two All-American nominations.
  • Schiro, Golden Eagles earn repeat Region IV DIII title

    MADISON, WISC. - The 2018 Region IV Division III Women's Basketball Tournament played out in nearly the same fashion as the 2017 edition, and both ended with Rock Valley College as the Region IV champions. The top-seeded Golden Eagles pulled away from third-seeded Joliet Joliet College in the fourth quarter to earn a 73-55 victory and a second consecutive crown.
  • Rock Valley's Hecox named NJCAA Player of the Week

    The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) had named Rock Valley College's Madi Hecox the Women's Basketball Division III Player of the Week for February 5-11 (Week 13). The honor is the first of the season for the defending national champion Golden Eagles, and the first such accolade of her career.

  • Madison's Corcoran earns second NJCAA Player of the Week honor

    For the second time this season, the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) has named Madison College's Megan Corcoran as the Division III Player of the Week for December 19 through January 7 (Week 8). The sophomore earned the same award following the first week of the season, and is the only WolfPack player to be recognized during the 2017-18 campaign.
  • Corcoran nabs season's first NJCAA Player of the Week

    Following the first week of the 2017-18 basketball season, the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) has named Madison College's Megan Corcoran as the Division III Women's Basketball Player of the Week for November 1-5 (Week 1). The national honor is the first of Corcoran's career, and the first for the WolfPack since Rachel Slaney earned the award in early January 2017.
