2017-18 NJCAA Region IV Women's Basketball Players of the Week

The following is the on-going list of 2017-18 women's basketball student-athletes who have received NJCAA Region IV Player of the Week honors for their respective divisions.

 

February 19, 2018

Division II - District L: Ashley Quezaire, Bryant & Stratton College
In her game against Illinois Valley Community College, Quezaire shot 7/10 FG, 6/8 3 Pt. She had five rebounds, two assists, one steal, and two blocks!

Division III: Madi Hecox, Rock Valley College
In her two games this past week against Triton College and Madison College, Hecox shot 16/25 (64%) FG and 12/13 FT (92%) to average 23.5 PPG. She had 5.0 rebounds, 6.5 assists, and 1.5 steals!

 

February 12, 2018

Division II - District L: Kiara Donaldson, Bryant & Stratton College
In her game against Lincoln College, Donaldson shot 9/20 FG, 1/4 3 pt, and 5/7 FT for 24 points, and had eight rebounds. Against Illinois Central, she scored ten points and was 3/8 FG, 0/1 3 PT, and 4/6 FT with two rebounds, one assists and a block!

Division III: Deesha Brefford, Joliet Junior College
Against Milwaukee Area Technical College, Brefford shot 13/22 FG, 2/7 3 Pt, 2/2 FT to score 30 points, had six steals, three rebounds, three assists, and one block. Against Wilbur Wright College, Deesha scored 36 points on 14/24 FG, 6/11 3 PT, and 2/2 FT, with eight rebounds, seven assists, and five steals. Her weekly totals were 66 points, 11 rebounds, ten assists, 11 steals, and one block!

 

February 5, 2018

Division II - District L: Ashley Williams, Bryant & Stratton College
In her game against Highland Community College, Williams shot 7/15 FG, 1/5 3 Pt, and 2/2 FT for 19 points. She had eight rebounds, six assists, and two steals. Against Gogebic Community College, Williams shot 10/20 FG for 20 points with nine rebounds, one assist, one steal and one block!

Division III: Rachel Dumoulin, Elgin Community College
In her game against Morton College on January 30, Dumoulin scored 39 points, was 10/22 FG, 1/3 3 pt, and 16/18 FT with 17 rebounds and one assist. Against the College of Lake County, Rachel scored 36 points on 8/19 FG, 3/10 3 Pt, and 17/20 FT with 15 rebounds and two assists. On February 3 against Morton College, Dumoulin had 23 points, was 6/10 FG, 1/4 3 Pt, and 8/10 FT with nine rebounds, two assists, and four blocked shots. Rachel is third in Division 3 averaging 26.7 PPG, first in points scored, and first in free throws!

 

January 29, 2018

Division I: JayShari Chears, Malcolm X College
Against Wilbur Wright College, Chears scored 22 points (8/20 FG, 6/11 FT) on 40% FG with ten assists, nine rebounds, and two steals!

Division II - District L: Hannah Raupach, College of Lake County
In her game against Waubonsee Community College, Raupach scored 13 points (6/11 FG at 54%, 1/2 3 point) with 12 rebounds, five steals, three blocks, and seven assists. Against Oakton Community College, Hannah scored 14 points (6/16 FG at 37.5%, 2/4 3 point), with 19 rebounds, four steals, five blocks, and seven assists. Her totals for the week were 27 points, 31 rebounds, nine steals, eight blocks and 14 assists. Hannah is ranked #3 in the NJCAA in total rebounds per game (14.3) for the season, and is ranked #1 in defensive rebounds per game!

Division II - District D: Ashley Hunter, Moraine Valley Community College
In her game against Waubonsee Community College, Hunter scored 35 points (14/27), 4/6 3 PT, with 12 rebounds, three assists, and three steals. Against Elgin Community College, Ashley scored 21 points (9/17), 1/1 from 3 point, with nine rebounds, one assist, and two steals. Her totals for the week were 56 points, 21 rebounds, 4 assists, 5 steals and 5/7 from the 3 point line!

Division III: Ashley Shapiro, Harper College
Against Milwaukee Area Technical College, Shapiro scored 30 points (11/15 FG, 8/10 FT), had 14 rebounds, three assists, three blocks and two steals. Against Wilbur Wright College, Ashley scored 21 points, had 14 rebounds, two assists, and three steals. Her totals for the week were 51 points, 28 rebounds, five assists, three blocks and five steals!

 

January 22, 2018

Division II - District L: Julia Pohar, Illinois Valley Community College
In her game against Sauk Valley Community College, Pohar scored 28 points with two 4-point plays and 6/7 from the line. Against Carl Sandburg College, Julia scored 20 points, 6/7 FT, six rebounds, and four assists. Julia scored 48 points for the week!

Division II - District D: Ava Gardner, Oakton Community College
In her game against Elgin Community College, Gardner scored 14 points (6/13 FG, 2/4 3 Pt) at 46% FG, had four rebounds, two steals, one block, and one assist. Against Prairie State College, Ava scored 22 points (9/14 FG, 4/6 3 Pts) at 64% FG, with eight rebounds, four steals, one block and three assists!

Division III: Cheyanne Jo Udelhoven, Madison College
In her game against Harper College, Udelhoven scored 13 points, 5/11 FG, 3/6 3 PT, total FG 8/17 at 47%, with eight rebounds, one steal, one block, and three assists. Against the College of DuPage, Cheyanne scored 24 points, she had 9/15 FG, 2/2 FT, 4/8 3 PT her total FG was 13/23 at 50%. She also had five rebounds. Her totals for the week were 37 points, 13 rebounds, one steal, one block and three assists!

 

January 8, 2018

Division II - District D: Ashley Hunter, Moraine Valley Community College
Hunter broke Moraine Valley's single game scoring record with 48 points vs. College of DuPage to go along with ten rebounds. She was 21/29 from the floor and shot 72%, was 6/6 Ft, had two assists and five steals. She also broke a NJCAA national record with her 21 field goals made. Against Malcolm X College, Ashley was 6/12 FG at 50%, 2/2 FT, had ten rebounds, five assists, two blocks, and two steals. Against Elmhurst College, she was 7/16 at 44%, 2/3 FT, had ten rebounds, three assists, one block, and two steals. Her totals for the week were 78 points, 30 rebounds, ten assists, three blocks, and nine steals!

Division II - District L: Danielle Stiles, Kishwaukee College
In her game against Morton College, Stiles scored 16 points, was 7/17 FG, 2/5 FT with ten offensive rebounds, 17 total rebounds, one assist, and one steal!

Division III: Megan Corcoran, Madison College
In her game against Joliet Junior College, Corcoran was 8/19 FG at 42%, 3/8 3 pt for 37%, 9/10 FT at 90%, had six rebounds, two steals, one block, and two assists. Against Triton College, Megan was 12/21 FG at 57%, 1/4 3 Pt. for 25%, 3/4 FT at 75%, with seven rebounds, two steals, two blocks, and two assists. Her totals for the week were 20/40 FG at 50%, 4/12 3 PT for 33%, 12/14 FT for 86%, 13 rebounds, four steals, three blocks, and four assists!
