Clements, Elisee lead Triton College to Region 4 title

The Covid-19 pandemic shortened the 2020-21 men's basketball season and forced some teams from competing, however, when it came time to crown a champion, it was too familiar foes left for the 2021 NJCAA Region 4 Division I Men's Basketball Tournament Championship. Top-seeded Triton College prevailed over second-seeded Highland Community College by a 76-59 margin for their second Division I title in three years and ninth overall. 

Freshman center Deangelo Elisee was named Region 4 Tournament MVP after scoring ten points, grabbing six rebounds, and blocking four shots against the Cougars. He was joined on the NJCAA Region 4 All-Tournament Team by teammates Kejuan Clements and Morgan Taylor, who combined to score 24 points and secure 10 boards in the win. Steve Christiansen was named the Region 4 Coach of the Year for the sixth time.

During the regular season, the Trojans were led by Clements, and the sophomore guard was named the NJCAA Region 4 Player of the Year. He averaged 14.9 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 3.7 assists. Clements, along with Justin Warren of Highland Community College, were the region's two All-American nominees.
