DuPage secures another 3rd place finish at NJCAA Div. III Championships
CHAUTAUQUA, N.Y. & PLYMOUTH, IND. - The College of DuPage earned a third place finish for the fifth year in a row at the NJCAA Division III Men's Golf Championships at Chautauqua Golf Club from June 2-5. The Chaparrals placed three individuals in the top 18 to earn NJCAA All-American status. At the NJCAA Division II Men's Golf Championships at Swan Lake Resort, Black Hawk College placed tied for eighth and Bryant & Stratton College's Marquez Angeles tied for third overall. DuPage opened the tournament in fourth place with a 307 team score, and remained their following Round 2 with a 300. Thursday's third round saw the Chaps turn in a 289 team score to jump into second place. A 306 in the final round resulted in a 1,202 (+50) final tally and a third place finish, just four shots back of second place Delta College. Sandhills Community College claimed their seventh national championship with a final score of 1,156 (+4). The 289 by COD was the best 18-hole team score in the tournament by any team that wasn't Sandhills CC.
Sophomore Nathan Kwiatkowski led the charge with a fourth place finish at 294 (+6). He started the week with a two-over-par 74, and followed with an even-par 72 and a four-under 68 in Round 3 that tied for the lowest 18-hole score of the tournament and placed him second on the leaderboard with a one-shot deficit. His final round 80 led to a top five finish and NJCAA First Team All-American accolades. Sandhills Sebastian Haug won the individual championship with a 284 (-4) total.
Fellow Chaparrals Kyrin Abella and Patrick Davis received NJCAA Third Team All-American honors. Abella was 17th overall with a 304 (+16) after going 82-77-72-73, while Davis was right behind in 18th at 305 (+17) after four sub-80 rounds of 77-73-79-76. Matthew Sims was the final counted score at 306 (+18) and shot 76-78-74-78. Jack Boehmke was the fifth player for COD at 312 (+24/80-78-75-79) to take 26th.
2026 NJCAA Division III Men's Golf Championships Final Results
At the Division II event, Black Hawk College turned in a final total of 1,200 (+48) to finish 33 shots behind national champion Murray State. Highland Community College as 12th overall at 1,211 (+59).
Marquez Angeles of Bryant & Stratton College was the region's top individual finisher, taking third overall with a two-over-par 290. The freshman signed off on rounds of 75-72-72-71 to sit three strokes back of Murray State's Connor Tallentire at 287 (-1) for the individual championship. Angeles was a NJCAA First Team All-American, while Leo Fiscus paced the Braves with a tie for 15th to secure NJCAA Second Team All-American. Fiscus shot 296 (+8) with rounds of 76-71-76-73
