Henry, Triton College win Region 4 crown

An abbreviated 2020-21 season due to the Covid-19 pandemic finished with just two programs competing for the NJCAA Region 4 Division I Women's Basketball Tournament title. Second-seeded Triton College defeated top-seeded Highland Community College by a 62-58 final to claim the Trojans first region championship since 1994.

Sophomore guard Mariah Henry scored 16 points, to go along with six rebounds, six assists, and seven steals, to help Triton College avenge two prior losses to the Cougars. Henry was named Region 4 Tournament MVP, and was joined on the all-tournament team by teammate Monraia Wilson, who finished with a double-double of 20 points and ten rebounds. Marques Hatch was named Region 4 Coach of the Year.

Prior to the title game, Highland Community College's Abby Barr was voted the Region 4 Player of the Year. The freshman forward averaged 18.7 points and 8.1 rebounds. Due to the low participation numbers, Barr received the lone All-American nomination for the region.
