Golden Eagles compete at NJCAA national tournament
HUNTSVILLE, ALA. - In their second consecutive appearance at the NJCAA Division II Women's Soccer Championships, Region 4 champion Rock Valley College was unable to pick up a win during pool play. The Golden Eagles finished their season with a record of 17-4-1.
Playing in Pool B, #7-seeded RVC opened against #2-seeded Johnson County Community College, but were shutout in a 3-0 loss to the eventual national runners-up. The contest was a rematch from a national tournament game one year prior.
Rock Valley College fell in a 2-0 hole in their second match against #11 Anne Arundel Community College, the Golden Eagles eventually tied the score at 2-2 after goals from Keyla Suarez and Emma Ambrose. Following two more goals by AACC, Annika Elgin notched another for Rock Valley, who was unable to come up with the equalizer before the final whistle. (Recap: Rock Valley)
